Our dedicated recruitment team will carefully review your application. If you meet our criteria, we’ll extend an invitation for an interview. This interview is a valuable chance for us to get better acquainted with you and for you to learn more about us. Once we confirm the date and time of your interview, you’ll receive an email containing instructions on how to access our Professional Carers portal, also known as the Members Portal. Prior to your interview, we’ll kindly request that you complete our online application form and submit your candidate details, which will facilitate your application process.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR PROFESSIONAL CARERS AND REGISTERED NURSES

When confirming your interview, whether through a phone call or an in-person meeting, we will ask for the necessary documentation to initiate the process of applying for your DBS check and references. These checks are vital due to the nature of the work involving vulnerable individuals, and we aim to complete them promptly. If you have any inquiries or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to inform us, and your recruiter will be there to help.

EVIDENCE OF YOUR RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK MAY INCLUDE:

  • To demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK, you can provide any of the following documents:

    1. Passport, along with any relevant visa or WRS documents if you’re a non-EU citizen (For student visas, we require a copy of your enrollment letter and study timetable).
    2. Birth certificate (Please note that short birth certificates will not be accepted).
    3. Adoption certificate.

ALTERNATIVE IDENTIFICATION – CHOOSE FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

          Accepted forms of  additional identification include:

    1. Full or provisional driving license.
    2. Marriage certificate.
    3. Change of name document (deed poll).

TWO DOCUMENTS VERIFYING YOUR CURRENT ADDRESS, DATED WITHIN THREE MONTHS OF THE INTERVIEW DATE, MAY INCLUDE:

  • You can provide any of the following documents as two proofs of address, each dated within three months of the interview date:

    1. Bank or building society statement.
    2. Benefit statement.
    3. Council tax letter (dated for the upcoming year).
    4. Credit card statement.
    5. Financial statement.
    6. Letter from the Head Teacher or College Principal.
    7. Mortgage statement.
    8. P45/P60.
    9. Driving license (photo card and paper part).
    10. Utility bill – this can be one of the following: Gas, Electric, Water, or Landline phone (mobile phone bills are not accepted).
     

WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM YOU

After successfully passing the interview stage, we will require the following documentation:

  1. National Insurance Number
  2. Proof of your National Insurance Number, which can also serve as a form of identification.

References

We request two professional references, with one of them preferably being your current or most recent employer. Kindly provide the following details for each reference: their name, company/organization address, email, and work contact number.

Qualifications and Training Documentation for

Caregivers:

  • NVQ / QCF Certifications
  • Care Certificate along with Portfolio
  • Any other pertinent training certificates

Nurses with Qualifications:

  • NMC Registration Number
  • Additional Qualifications and Training Certificates

DBS / PVG Screening

We perform DBS checks in England and PVG checks in Scotland at your nearby branch. If you are not registered with the update service, you will need to submit an application

Offer Details

It’s always exciting to hear of your success! Please be aware that all offers are contingent upon the following:

  1. Satisfactory references.
  2. Successful completion of training.
  3. Approval of DBS / PVG checks.
  4. Successful fulfillment of your training program.
  5. Confirmation of your eligibility to work in the UK.
  6. Verification of your availability to commence and perform the offered work within seven days from the start date of your training.

This offer remains valid for a period of seven days from the date of issuance.

To become part of UKHCS as a professional carer, certain pre-employment checks are mandatory, unless you are already registered with the update service. These checks include applying for a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, and we can assist you in this process through your local branch. You will be required to finalize online e-learning modules and engage in virtual training sessions conducted through Microsoft Teams.
